Overview
SS-31 (Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide:
Primary Target: Cardiolipin
- Cardiolipin = key phospholipid in mitochondrial inner membrane
- Essential for:
- Electron transport chain (ETC) stability
- ATP production
- Reduces reactive oxygen species (ROS)
- Improves electron transport efficiency
Results:
- ↑ ATP Production
- ↓ Oxidative Stress
- ↓ Apoptosis
Dosage
2-5 mg once daily
Indications
FDA Approved for Barth Syndrome.
- Off label use:
Fatigue & Low Energy
- Chronic fatigue states
- Post-viral fatigue (experimental context)
Anti-Aging / Longevity
- Targeting mitochondrial decline with age
- Reducing oxidative stress burden
Cycles: 4–12 weeks cycles then a week break
Side Effects
