Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- NAC: enhances phase II detoxification.
- B vitamins: support hepatic metabolism.
- DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide): Enhances the absorption of nutrients and aids in the elimination of toxins from the liver, promoting thorough detoxification.
- N-acetylcysteine: Acts as a potent antioxidant and supports glutathione production, essential for liver detoxification and protection against harmful substances.
- Zinc: Supports liver tissue repair and regeneration.

- Taste alteration related to DMSO: A garlic-like taste may occur, beginning a few minutes after instillation and lasting for several hours. Garlic odor on the breath and skin may also occur and persist for up to 3 days.
Contraindications
These intravenous infusions should not be administered to patients with:
- Chronic renal insufficiency
- Congestive heart failure
- Atrial fibrillation, and
- known allergies on vitamins, minerals, and related substances. and other ingredients contained in the IV infusion bag.
- This should not be administered to patients below 18 years old.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding.
- Allergy
- Caution in asthma (NAC may cause bronchospasm)
Interactions
- NAC potentiates nitroglycerin vasodilation
- Drug Interactions: Digoxin, diuretics, potassium-depleting medicines. If the patient is taking any medicine, check first for any possible drug interaction before use. Do not take alcohol, sleep aids, or tranquilizers of other CNS depressants.
- DMSO x Dexrazoxane: Dimethyl Sulfoxide may diminish the therapeutic effect of Dexrazoxane.
